// Premise

Young Pilgrim is an illustrated adaptation of The Pilgrim’s Progress for children. Free online reading, English and Chinese editions, and audiobooks bring a classic Christian allegory into family read-alouds, devotions, and bedtime stories.

// Deep dive

For a classic to become part of a child’s life, it needs a bridge they can walk. Young Pilgrim retells the journey through a child’s perspective: beginning with “A Little Light,” 29 illustrated chapters give faith, hope, and the road home a tangible story.

The site offers English and Chinese editions with audiobooks in both languages, for independent reading or listening together as a family. Individual chapter pages include the complete text, illustrations, chapter navigation, and a link to the other language. Complete Bunyan and A.L.O.E. texts also invite readers to explore the story’s sources.

“Walk toward that light. You will find the narrow gate. When you get there, knock.”

Young Pilgrim · Chapter 1: A Little Light

// 01 · A reading bridge

A classic to read together

The Pilgrim’s Progress carries a rich Christian imagination, while its language and setting can feel distant to a new reader. Young Pilgrim offers families an entry through an illustrated story written for children.

It is intended for family read-alouds, bedtime reading, and devotions: a way to follow the characters first, then open conversations about faith, temptation, help, and hope.

// 02 · The reading journey

Begin with a little light

The 29 chapters form a continuous journey. “A Little Light” introduces a boy carrying a burden and a light in the distance. Later chapter titles include “Someone Behind the Gate,” “At the Cross,” “Doubting Castle,” “The Key Called Promise,” and “The Road Home.”

Each chapter has a complete text page, illustrations, and chapter navigation. Start with Chapter 1 in English or the Chinese edition.
